Siem de Jong Injury Leaves Him Facing 4 Months At The Sidelines

Newcastle fear that key player and summer signing Siem de Jong will be out until Christmas due to a groin injury he picked up this week.

The loss of the Holland international for four months could be a bitter blow to Toon Army manager Alan Pardew, who missed out on Queens Park Ranger’s Loic Remy after he had a successful loan spell the previous term, and decided not to pursue any other attacking alternatives other than Emmanuel Riviere.

Teammate and enforcer Cheick Tiote is also struggling with his fitness after missing United’s first three games of the new season.
