Tyrone Barnett has completed a short-term loan transfer from Peterborough United to Oxford United.
Micheal Appleton was quick to borrow the 28-year-old on a 93-day deal for the U’s, after he was set to sign for them permanently on deadline day.
“Tyrone is a proven goalscorer at this level,” Appleton said.
“He is a strong lad, has pace and is always going to cause defences problems.”
“We are delighted that he is here and we are really looking forward to working with him.”
With fellow forward Will Hoskins out injured until January, Barnett looks set to play a part against Exeter on Saturday, who are the only team below them in the Football League.
