Ajax 2-1 Heracles – 17:30

A brace from Arkadiusz Milik in the first half saw Ajax 2-0 up against Heracles at half-time, and although a late goal was scored by Wout Weghorst, that couldn’t save the visitors from a fifth consecutive loss from the five games played so far in the new season. TFW Man of the Match: Arkadiusz Milik (Ajax)

Twente 2-1 Go Ahead Eagles – 17:30

Luc Castaignos scored an early goal for the hosts Twente on the 4th minute, but 18 minutes later the visitors equalised with a goal from Marnix Kolder. Jesus Manuel Corona put the hosts ahead again before half-time. Castaignos could have got his second goal of that match when Twente were awarded a penalty, but was denied by goalkeeper Erik Cummins. TFW Man of the Match: Jesus Manuel Corona (Twente)

AZ Alkmaar 0-1 Heerenveen – 18:45

The only goal of the match was from Heerenveen’s Daley Sinkgraven in the first half, who was later substituted for Doke Schmidt late in the second period. The hosts had opportunities to shoot, but 6 out of 9 of them were off target. TFW Man of the Match: Pele van Aanholt (Heerenveen)

Feyenoord 1-2 Willem II – 19:45

Early goals from Frank van der Struijk and Samuel Armenteros put Williem II in front at the break by a comfortable two goals, with a second-half goal from Feyenoord’s Colin Kazim-Richards looking just as a consolation by the end of the match. TFW Man of the Match: Samuel Armenteros (Willem II)

PEC Zwolle 3-1 PSV Eindhoven – 19:45

A 32nd minute penalty from Luuk de Jong put PSV Eindhoven in front for 10 minutes before Jesper Drost scored for the hosts. Second half goals from PEC Zwolle’s Joost Broerse and Ben Reinstra meant that PEC Zwolle went back to a shared top spot in the Dutch Eredivisie with the team they just played, PSV Eindhoven, at 12 points. TFW Man of the Match: Ben Reinstra (PEC Zwolle)

Cambuur 3-0 Groningen – 13:30

Second-half goals from Albert Rusnak, Bartholomew Ogbeche and substitute Sander van de Streek, who also hit the woodwork once, saw the game won by a highly-dominating Cambuur side, who had 19 shots, 9 of them being on target, with their opponents Groningen having to play with 10 men for 30 minutes in the second half. TFW Man of the Match: Sander van de Streek (Cambuur)

Vitesse 3-1 Excelsior – 13:30

It was the Abiola Dauda show, as he scored a hat-trick, with two of those goals coming in the second half. It was a highly offensive display from the hosts, as they packed up 23 shots and a good statistic of 67% of possession, but they they couldn’t earn a clean sheet as a late Jeff Stans penalty for the visitors looked only as a consolation. TFW Man of the Match: Abiola Dauda (Vitesse)

FC Dordrecht 0-1 NAC Breda – 15:45

A late 87th minute goal from Kingsley Boateng saw NAC Breda win the three points, although the visiots hadn’t had that much of the possession. 39 shots were seen in the match, 10 of them coming from the goalscorer Boateng, who denied FC Dordrecht even a point, although the hosts had hit the woodwork twice. TFW Man of the Match: Kingsley Boateng (NAC Breda)
