I Want To Win The Premier League… This Season! – Louis van Gaal

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal oversaw his first competitive win in charge at Old Trafford yesterday, as they beat Queens Park Rangers 4-0.

Angel di Maria, Ander Herrera, Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata provided the finishing, and restored the good feeling at United.

And after spending £150 million worth of summer signings, van Gaal now sets his sights on winning the English Premier League.

“I want to win the Premier League title,” the Dutch coach said.

“If it is not this year then the second or third year. I want to give a championship to the fans.”

“I said to the players before the match that we had to make a new start today.”

“As of September 1, we were only together as a group for two or three days before the game. But this is the selection [of players] that we start with from now, after the transfer period. This result is fantastic, but we can do much better.”

“When you have a result of 4-0, then you can be happy as a coach, but you always have points you can improve.”

“My teams are always focused on attack, but it is not our focus – that is to be in the first three. The most important thing is the trajectory.”
