Ross Barkley - The Footballing World

Manchester City Eyeing Ross Barkley

Everton’s Ross Barkley – Manchester City target?

Manchester City will be targeting Everton’s Ross Barkley next summer with the English Premier League champions valuing the English midfielder at about €38 million, as the Citizens hope for Joe Hart and James Milner to sign new contracts at the Manchester club.

The Etihad Stadium team were interested in buying the England international in the close seaoson but would not countenance paying Everton’s asking price of €64 million.

There is a belief that Barkley would be a better player who can replace 31-year-old Yaya Toure on day, the Tofees’ midfield man being 11 years younger than the Ivory Coast international.

Barkley, currently sidelined due to a knee injury, signed a our-year contract worth about €76,000 a week in July, a deal that was offered by his current Liverpool-based club, as they sought to strengthen their bargaining position.
