Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has described Calum Chambers impact at Arsenal as “remarkable” following his transfer from Southampton.
Following his summer move, Chambers has been a regular starter in Arsenal’s defence due to a number of injuries to key players across the Gunners’ backline, and he played a full 90 minutes a right-back in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League.
And Wenger has been delighted with the impact made by the England teenager.
“He has been remarkable in every position,” Wenger told Arsenal’s website.
“He has an unbelievable engine. He goes and goes. It’s not often that you see that quality.”
“His yellow card was very harsh and the one against Aston Villa was very harsh as well. I’ve told him to be keen and committed and I think he had a good game overall.”
“I’d consider playing him in midfield but I don’t know about Wednesday [against Galatasaray] because I only have four defenders at the moment.”
