Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini says that his side’s English League Cup clash with Newcastle United is going to be like a cup final, as the Chilean boss already has one eye on the fixture on October 29, as Pellegrini is determined to do well in the competition, and pointed towards the game against the North-East club as one which carries high importance.
“We know that from now until the next international break we have to play seven games in three different competitions,” he said to The London Evening Standard.
“We have four games in the Premier League. It is very important for us to try not to drop points and to try and recover points from Chelsea which is the leader in this moment.”
“We also have one game against Newcastle which is like a final because if we don’t win we go out of the Capital One Cup.”
