Odion Ighalo has signed a new deal with Watford that will keep him at Vicarage Road until 2017, and the Nigerian striker who has been on loan with the English Championship outfit from Italian Serie A side Udinese, has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the Hornets, the club’s website reported.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan from Udinese at Spanish La Liga side Granada, as well as Lyn-Oslo in Norway and Udinese’s fellow Serie A club Cesena.

Watford’s decision for a permanent deal for Ighalo looks to have come as a result of his performances in the last three games he played for Watford, and has scored three times in four starts in the Championship with successive goals against Brentford, Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest.
