Queens Park Rangers’ scouts were present alongside West Bromwich Albion’s at Stade de la Route de Lorient to watch Rennes midfielder Vincent Pajot play against Montpellier in the French Ligue 1 just a week after the Baggies and Leicester City had watched the 24-year-old play well in his side’s 2-0 win over Monaco, although this time he was not so good as he failed to shine in a shock 4-0 home defeat.
Pajot is out of contract at the end of the season and, although Rennes have tabled a new deal, he is waiting to speak to other clubs in January.
The former France Under-21 international as been in fine form this season but did not take his opportunity to impress the watching English Premier League scouts.
Pajot was substituted midway through the second-half with Montpellier 3-0 up as the isitors’ winger Anthony Mounier did the damage with a goal and an assist.
QPR had previously scouted Rennes’ 1-0 home win over Lorient in November and are believed to be keeping an eye on France Under-21 winger Paul-Georges Ntep.
