Former Southampton forward Matt Le Tissier expects Newcastle United to retain their English Premier League status next season.
John Carver’s Magpies are currently 14th in the league table with 35 points from 33 matches, currently just seven points above the drop zone.
“33 points, maybe 34 will be enough to stay up this season and for that reason I can’t see Newcastle getting dragged in despite their terrible form,” Le Tissier told Sky Sports.
Newcastle are in terrible form at the moment and have lost their last six games in the English top flight, as they are struggling for goals and are also conceding far too many than they should.
Carver’s men look to return to winning ways on Saturday when they face a league meeting with Swansea City at St James’ Park on Saturday.
