Inter are close to signing a contract extension with Chelsea target striker Mauro Icardi.
The Blues were leading the race to secure his signature earlier this year, but the Argentine looks set to stay at the San Siro.
His current deal with the Nerazzurri expires in June 2018, but he is reportedly on comparatively low wages, and is looking for a pay rise this summer, having so far scored 18 goals in 31 Italian Serie A appearances this season.
Inter vice president Javier Zanetti said: “Mauro is very calm and serene about his future. You clearly see that he’s enjoying himself on the pitch.
“We are very happy to have him in our team. We are close to agreeing a contract renewal with Mauro. He will be important for Inter in the future.”
Along with Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with Icardi, but all interested teams could be set for disappointment.
