Werder Bremen have confirmed an affection for Inter forward Lukas Podolski, on loan from Arsenal, but claimed that signing him would be “totally unrealistic”.
The 30-year-old Germany international has been heavily expected to leave the Gunners this summer after struggling during his loan spell at Inter, who opted against a permanent deal.
Galatasaray are reportedly interested in securing the former Bayern Munchen and Koln man, with his current deal in North London expiring next summer, but it is said that the player is keen to return to the German Bundesliga, but Bremen have stressed that the Weserstadion is not a likely destination.
“Lukas Podolski is a great footballer, I like him,” Bremen general manager Thomas Eichin told Bild.
“But we do not need to discuss such rumours. It is totally unrealistic for us to make a move for him.”
