Napoli want €50 million for Arsenal target Higuain

Napoli have rejected Arsenal’s offer of €40 million for striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to reports.

The Gunners recently offered €40 million for the former Real Madrid goalscorer, but Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis is taking a tough stance over the Argentina international and will only consider offers above the €50 million mark.

Napoli beat Arsenal to sign Higuain from the Santiago Bernabeu in 2013, but with manager Rafael Benitez to take over at Real as well as a lack of UEFA Champions League football at the San Paolo, although he has not publicly pushed for a move, continuing to declare his happiness with the Azzurri.

However, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger looks set on taking Higuain to the Emirates Stadium as his side look to mount a serious challenge for the English Premier League title next season, with the player having scored 35 goals in 65 appearances in his time with Napoli.
