Arsenal are keeping tabs on midfielder Mario Gotze’s situation at Bayern Munich after the Germany international’s agent Volker Struth slammed Bayern for not supporting his client enough last season.
This has triggered suggestion that a move away from the Allianz Arena could be on the cards, with the Gunners, as well as Manchester United, being keen on securing the 23-year-old’s services.
Struth has claimed Gotze should have been given more game time, telling Bild am Sonntag: “Of course I would have liked if Mario had felt more support in one or two situations.
“I am fully convinced that when Mario feels this support, it is easier for him to show his incredible potential. Then he is one of the best players in the world.
“Of course he was disappointed and that did bother him. As a player, you are always wondering ‘why did I not start?’
“That is why Mario moved to Bayern – to be playing in these big matches and to win titles.”
