CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa was “overwhelmed” after scoring the winner in his side’s 1-0 Russian Premier League win over Rubin Kazan on Saturday.
After the match, the Nigeria international told CSKA TV: “I’m overwhelmed!
“The main thing is that we gained three points today.
“The opposition was very strong, it’s always tough to play against this team.
“We played good and I’m delighted with the win.”
When asked whether the score was fair enough, the 22-year-old said: “The most important thing is that we won.
“The score could have been 2:0 or 3:0, because we created good chances.
“We didn’t capitalize on our advantage in the first half, but scored on the last minutes and gained three points.”
“We are in good conditions,” he said when asked about the team’s physical conditions.
“We didn’t stop on the pitch, we weren’t lowering our tempo from the start to the final whistle.
“The opposition was tough, but our physical conditions helped us to clinch the victory. I can say confidently that we are ready for the season.”
