Following Italy’s UEFA EURO 2016 Round of 16 win over defending champions Spain yesterday, coach Antonio Conte said he does not regret making a decision before the tournament to leave Italy for Chelsea.
The 46-year-old, who will be taking charge of the Blues after Euro 2016, is confident he’s made the right decision to step down once their campaign comes to an end.
“I’ve made a choice,” he said, after his side’s 2-0 win over Spain.
“I will have a significant experience abroad now.
“But clearly Italy has a place in my heart from every perspective and I hope to be Italy coach again in the future because there is no experience like that in the world.”
Italy will face Germany next on Saturday in the quarter-finals of the competition.
