Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing the opportunity to take advantage of Manchester United forward Anthony Martial’s situation, with personal life issues having affected his form on the pitch which has led to coach Jose Mourinho to drop the 20-year-old Frenchman from the Red Devils’ matchday squad.
Los Blancos are seemingly willing to pay £60m – £2m more than what United would have to pay Martial’s former club Monaco should the player fulfill all the extra clauses of his contract – as well as midfielder James Rodriguez.
United have been linked with 2014 World Cup Golden Boot winner Rodriguez since he fell out of favour of Real boss Zinedine Zidane at the start of 2016.
Wayne Rooney and Memphis Depay could also be leaving Old Trafford, both the subject of an inquiry from Everton, while Ashley Young has attracted a transfer chase led by Watford, West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City.
Also, Mourinho is keen on keeping midfielder Jesse Lingard, who has been offered wage-doubling deal which would see him earn £60,000 a week, though the 23-year-old’s representatives are holding out for more.
